A number of global trends are affecting all organizations and every industry.  I stress to leaders and executives to be thinking about not only what’s happening in your city, your province or your state, but what are some of the common changes that are happening across the globe?

One of these trends is tax reform. There has been much conversation about tax reform and corporate tax reductions in the United States, but it’s not just in the US; Australia, France and the United Kingdom have quickly followed suit with reducing corporate taxes.

Another example of a trend is the increased move to greater protectionism. In 2018, Westinghouse lobbied federal regulators in the US to protect them against LG. Why? Because consumers were buying more LG products than Westinghouse products. Consumers said that LG appliances were better, lasted longer and performed better. Globalization has provided consumers with more product and service choices.
