Oil and gas and related industries across the globe are under considerable pressure. Governments are affected and wrestling with increased debt loads and pressure on social services. Many Canadian premiers are losing the confidence of their constituents. This is taking a toll on leaders and communities.
It can be difficult to retain one’s usual optimism. To remedy this somewhat, I surround myself with visionaries and try to maintain a long-term perspective.
I maintain a healthy regimen of food and exercise all was good news at my recent annual health assessment. I want to stay strong, healthy and resilient. I want to be here to enjoy life for a long, long time.
With the recent passing of Shimon Peres, a leader for peace, I reflected on his legacy and one of his comments,
“The secret to perpetual youth is to have a list of dreams that’s greater than your list of achievements” –Shimon Peres, Nobel Winner, Former Israeli President
