How well are you navigating to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) maturity in your organization? Have you developed milestones to assess the breadth of your efforts and to communicate to staff, investors, and the community?
As I mentioned in my previous article, “Prioritizing Your ESG Efforts”, ESG considerations are increasing in prominence across the globe. While leaders strive to make the best choices for all stakeholders, actions alone will not be enough. Organizations must demonstrate a commitment to ESG to be successful in the 21st century.
Developing your ESG governance, policies and practices is complex and a multi-phase endeavor. The first step is to identify and agree upon your current level of maturity. Next, you can assign responsibility and accountability and create a roadmap to share with all internal and external stakeholders.
In the diagram below, I provide a roadmap to guide you as you move your ESG elements from ad hoc to maximized. This model can help you create your own roadmap. Click here to download a printable version of the diagram.
