The Case for Working Less - Lorraine Moore

We are a society of achievers and strivers and workaholics. Social media actually has made it even worse as it has created more transparency and a perceived need to be “always on.”

I say work less.

I remember having a conversation with Marshall Goldsmith, a world-renowned coach who works with the CEOs of organizations including Ford, Starbucks and others. He shared that his family said he was rarely around. He made a commitment that next year to work 50 percent fewer hours.

To his complete and utter surprise, Marshall earned more revenue that year than he’d ever earned before. There need be no direct correlation between the number of hours we work and our revenue or our income (unless we are working at an hourly paid job).

Are you in the trap of feeling like as if you need to be always on? Do you feel addicted to long hours? Where and how can you reintroduce more time and space into your day and week…to stimulate creativity, peace of mind and time with others.

Elevate your leadership performance by learning from some of the best. Pick up a copy of my book, The 360 Degree CEO: Generating Profits While Leading and Living with Passion and Principles available on Amazon.
